The Toaster That Toasted The Golden Toast has been reviewed by FilmThreat.com! Here's an excerpt:
"The jewel of the movie is a silly chase scene and dramatic rooftop fight sequence. While certainly not the only rooftop fight scene in motion picture history, the climax in 'The Toaster That Toasted The Golden Toast' may in fact be the only one that prominently involves a toaster in the action. It's a wonderfully shot scene, full of quick cuts and epic brawling that would make Chuck Norris proud."

Worked on the set of The Dukes of Hazzard in downtown New Orleans today. After helping block off streets from traffic, I then managed to tag along with one of the flim camera crews for the second half of the day and helped record dailies onto Hi8 tape.

1-5-05
Drove down to New Orleans yesterday to film various shots of New Orleans' city life. This was then edited together along with footage of attorney/politician Stephen Rue as he gave an introductory speech for LouisianaActors.com as well as LouiaianaRedCarpet.com. Both web sites will eventually link to the videos I made, which can also be viewed here and here.

Began production on the Renaissance Guild documentary today by filming rehearsals in a church/basketball gym. The camera I used turned out to be a piece of crap since it recorded endless static instead of good audio. Won't be using that one again...

9-8-04

The Renaissance Guild of San Antonio has offered me the task of documenting their upcoming production of Frankenstien by filming rehearsals, interviews, opening night, etc. The final product ought to be around thirty minutes or so, and possibly even count as the final project for my communication major.

- SUMMER UPDATE -

Alligatorland image banner

This summer I've been hired to produce/direct/film/edit a tourism video all about alligators for Holbrook Multimedia in Lafayette, Louisiana. This entails going on numerous swamp tours via airboat as well as interviewing people at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, among other things. Since this project (titled Alligatorland) isn't really a Neverthought Films production, I've been hesistant to post anything on this website about it, but I figure it's worth at least this brief mention. (The image banner above is made up entirely of images shot for Alligatorland.)

2-15-04

I found out today that my feature screenplay Vagabonds was awarded Third Place in the BEA Festival.  Not too shabby.

The Chthonia auditions went rather well.  Not as many people came as I would have preferred, but there was a large number of strong performances nonetheless.  I think I will audition a few more people one-on-one before I make any final decisions.

2-12-04
Auditions for Chthonia have been scheduled for this Friday night, 11am-4pm Saturday, and 11am-2pm Sunday to be held at Trinity University in Chapman Auditorium rooms 105-109.  Hopefully I'll have a full cast at the end of the next three days.

2-11-04
I've been invited to attend the 10th Anniversary San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame banquet in the AlamoDome tomorrow night after having produced the tribute video for Trinity University's basketball coach Becky Geyer.  While Becky was named Sportswoman of the year, the Spurs basketball team was named as the Sportsmen of the year.  Maybe I'll get a chance to shmooze with some of them...

2-2-04
The current Neverthought Films project in the works is CHTHONIA.  The most up-to-date news can be found at CHTHONIA's news page.  I will update information there and not here unless it is pertinent.

2-1-04
The Becky Geyer tribute video is completed.  Using some fancy editing techniques and graphics programs, the video turned out to be pretty flashy.

1-30-04
Interviewed Bob King, Trinity's sports director about Becky Geyer.  Best quote of the interview (not to be included in the video): "You understand no one interviews like this; this is different for us."  I always knew I was a nonconformist.  We'll just have to wait and see how the video comes out...

1-28-04
Today I interviewed Allison Wooley - Trinity women's basketball team captain, and Jennifer Zinn - an assistant coach for the tribute video on Becky Geyer.

1-25-04
I've begun to edit the footage I shot yesterday and pick apart the very best shots to be used in the video.  This has been a rather difficult task since so many shots look good, yet I have only been allotted 2 minutes for the maximum running time.  I also shot some abstract shots of a basketball revolving around into the frame.

1-24-04
Since I've been "commissioned" by the San Antonio Express News to produce a 2-minute tribute video for Trinity University's head women's basketball coach Becky Geyer in honor of her being named San Antonio 2003 Sportswoman of the Year, I attended a home game and shot the action from several various angles which will be somehow compiled into the final video.  This project will mark the first time I've ever actually been paid to produce something on video.

1-4-04
I have begun preproduction on my next narrative short film, CHTHONIA (originally titled The Tunnel).  I've already created opening animated titles for the film, which is rather odd since I haven't even finalized the story yet.

Created the CHTHONIA website today.  Only a few of the page links work since I have not begun filming yet.

12-10-03
With Commode Creations fully completed and weighing-in with a runtime of 21 minutes, I drove over to Barney's garage today and delivered a copy of the documentary to him personally.

11-15-03
My name has been included onto the Internet Movie Database as being the director, cinematographer, writer, and editor of Hitchhiker. The names of the composers: Wendy Colonna, Kevin Bogle, and Matthew E. Hayes have also been added to the IMDB.  Michel Rubini, of course, already had been included before the creation of Hitchhiker because he has long been established in the industry.

10-23-03

Hitchhiker has been selected by the Edgeworks Short Film Festival to be screened on November 7, 2003!

10-15-03
Neverthought Films is now searchable by Google!  (Although the link seems to disappear and reappear at times when searched.)

9-22-03
Danny Bourque turns 20.  No more idle thrills of youth and naiveté to be had by this man...

9-17-03
HITCHHIKER TRAILER NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD

Trinity University's user html site is finally back up and working... for now. This means that I can post the Hitchhiker trailer online for all to view.  (This also means that my second film, Waves of Fate, is also downloadable from its webpage.)

9-15-03
I created this News page instead of simply linking to the Hitchhiker news page.

Created the Commode Creations website.

9-14-03
Updated the look of the Neverthought Films homepage to make it more accessible and user-friendly.

9-13-03
I interviewed Mr. Barney Smith of Alamo Heights in San Antonio, Texas today and filmed two and a half hours of footage for my documentary about Mr. Smith's artwork. He has decorated nearly 700 toilet seats and shows them off in his home garage museum. This project is tentatively titled "Commode Creations".  Quite to my surprise, a significant number of visitors arrived to view the museum and I was able to interview them concerning their reactions to Barney and his many toilet seats.
